County Championship Preview: Sussex
Sussex have some of the best players and as bunch of kids. Can they win anything this year?
Despite having Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammed Rizwan last year they couldn’t win and that was due to their bowling attack consisting of a Broken Steven Finn and a bunch of 16 year olds.
Many of those players have grown as a result and Ollie Robinson being back fit should help them early season before the Ashes they should have a much better time of it but with Pujara returning and a short stint from Steve Smith they still lack a figurehead bowling who can guide them through the entire season so they might come in for some tap but they will score lots of runs.
They had youngsters Ali Orr and Tom Haines scoring 1047 at 48 and 941 at 49 respectively there might have been a temptation not to get another overseas batter but they have done and I think they will only manage mid-table because of it.
With Tom Alsop arriving from Hampshire they should have even more domestic batting available to them as well.
They also have Nathan McAndrew joining them at the start of the season in an attempt to have some bowling and him next to Ollie Robinson will be dangerous.
Predicted Line-Up:
